Admission Criteria

The Neuroscience Bordeaux International Master program is open to all interested students in France, Europe and elsewhere in the world. The selection is based on a fair competitive process. Firstly, applicant files are reviewed and ranked. The best ones are selected for interview. After the interview (through Skype for students outside Bordeaux), the final list of selected applicants is made, together with a reserve list.

Good proficiency in English is required. As all the classes are taught in English, candidates must meet the required standards of B2 level at the minimum (independent speaker, upper intermediate). The applicant’s English level is checked during the interview.
There is no need to have any proficiency in French as the course is fully taught in English. Once in France, you will have the opportunity to attend French language courses.

All candidates must have already obtained a first higher education degree or demonstrate a recognised equivalent level of learning according to national legislation and practices, with excellent grades and/or other study results.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS) or equivalent Diploma in biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, medical studies, pharmacy, cognitive sciences or psychology. Proved interest in the field of Neuroscience has to be provided by candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in another subject (chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science).

A candidate who is currently enrolled in the last year of Bachelor at the time of application is allowed to apply, provided – in case he/she is admitted – he/she submits a proof of graduation before the NeurBIM program starts, i.e. before September 1st.

There is a possibility to apply directly to the 2nd year of the program. In this case, candidates should: (1) hold a diploma or an education level corresponding to the one provided by the 1st year of NeuroBIM; (2) be fully proficient in English (C1 level); (3) have secured acceptance in one of the traineeship proposals officially recognized by the Board of Education (see Master 2 Traineeships).
